Squadron membership

The procedure is simple:
- Contact our Membership Chairman.

- Fill out the membership application.
- Submit Application with appropriate fee.
- After processing you're a member of Beverly Sail & Power Squadron - WELCOME!
Membership Requirements
- Must be able and willing to contribute time, energy and skills to the objectives of USPS
- Must be accepted by the Squadron Executive Committee
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must have paid all applicable entrance fees and dues as required by National, District and Squadron
Types of Membership
Active Member
- Takes courses
- Attends meetings
- Votes
- Holds elected or appointed office
- Earns merit marks
- Receives The Ensign
Additional Active Member
- Takes courses
- Attends meetings
- Votes
- Holds elected or appointed office
- Earns merit marks
Family
- Takes courses
- Earns family merit marks
- Attends meetings but cannot vote
- Family members under the age of 18 are classified as junior family members for dues purposes only
Apprentice / Sea Scout
- Takes courses
- Apprentice membership extends from age 12 to end of the dues year of 17th birthday
- Sea Scouts from 14 years to the end of the dues year or 23rd birthday
- Receives the Ensign
Membership Fees and Dues Structure
Effective June 1, 2009 - December 31, 2010
Entrance Fee - The $25.00 is waived for 2010
At the time the Active Member applies for membership, an entrance fee of $25 is required along with National, District and Squadron dues. This is a one-time fee. No entrance fee is required for members of the family unit. However, this fee has been waived for all of 2010.
Individual Active Member - Annual Dues: $53.20
Includes National( $37.20), District assessment ($6) and local Squadron dues ($10)
Individual Active Member with Family - Annual Dues: $79.80
Includes National dues ($55.80), District assessment ($9) and local Squadron dues ($15)
Family membership includes original active member any additional active members or family members.
Life Members - No Dues
• Life members have paid dues for at least 25 years as active members and have received 25 active merit marks. A life member can add all other members of his/her family as a Family unit for $26.60. (Includes entire Family Units National dues ($18.50), District assessment ($3), Squadron Dues ($5)- Note that this is a "unit" not per person fee.)
Reinstatement of Membership -
Active Member-$53.20; Active Member with Family-$79.80
If you were a previous member you may be reinstated by payment of the current year's dues. If it has been more than 1 year, your dues anniversary due date will be reset to the time of submittal.
Transfers from another squadron - $2.00
If you wish to transfer an active membership from another squadron, there is a $2.00 fee
